We would strongly recommend applying at 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 85 degrees Fahrenheit to yield best results.
You can apply ExoShield in temperatures as low as 45 degrees Fahrenheit, but the dry time will be longer. When applying in colder temperatures, we recommend diluting the ExoShield 25 to 50 percent with mineral spirits to allow the oil to more easily soak into the wood fibers . In colder temperatures it's extremely important to make sure the weather will be dry for at least 4-5 days after coating due to longer dry times.
When applying in hotter temperatures at or above 85 degrees Fahrenheit, excess oil must be wiped off more quickly (10-15 minutes after applying) to prevent over-application. ExoShield will dry much quicker in hotter temperatures. We do not recommend applying ExoShield in temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
